功能与背景

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the nerve growth factor family. It is involved in the growth, differentiation and survival of specific types of developing neurons both in the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system. It is also involved in regulating synaptic plasticity in the CNS. Expression of a similar gene in human is reduced in both Alzheimer's and Huntington disease patients. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms that may undergo similar processing to generate mature protein. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015]

Overexpression

Non-transfected (–) and transfected (+) 293T whole cell extracts (0 μg) were separated by 12% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with BDNF antibody (GTX134514) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody.

BDNF antibody detects BDNF protein at cytoplasm by immunohistochemical analysis.
Sample: Paraffin-embedded mouse eye.
Green: BDNF stained by BDNF antibody (GTX134514) diluted at 1:500.
Red: beta Tubulin 3/ Tuj1, a cytoskeleton marker, stained by beta Tubulin 3/ Tuj1 antibody [GT11710] (GTX631836) diluted at 1:500.
Blue: Fluoroshield with DAPI (GTX30920).
Antigen Retrieval: Citrate buffer, pH 6.0, 15 min
